The concept is to encourage people to make music with their plants.
During my research, I came to the conclusion that the majority of people in urban cities lost touch with nature. Especially now during the Corona crisis, people spend a lot of time at home because of the lockdown.

What if we could raise awareness by making interactive music with our plants at home. And hopefully after the crisis people will be encouraged to take their gear outside and explore the sounds of plants in a forrest.

With the field kit and sensors which you can attach to your plant, it’s possible to sonically shape the signals coming from the plant. Touching your plant, playing music for your plant, whispering words of confirmation to your silent buddy might influence the outcome.

My concept is to create an open source platform where people can create music at home and upload it to the platform. The reason for it to be open source is because I see a lot of companies and brands already making a lot of profit of an idea that shouldn’t cost as much as they offer.

The reason I chose the field kit is because of its possibilities and mobility. But people are free to experiment with sound and synthesis in any way or form they want. I also want to encourage people to collaborate from all over the world. And hopefully, all this will raise a movement and awareness. Hopefully they can share their knowledge and the results will matter creatively and also impact the wellbeing of our environments. I want people to be aware that we are part of nature.

The Concept
Technology can be very much in balance with nature since it is mostly just trying to imitate or trying to understand something from within nature. I hope we as humanity will be able to somehow establish a more balanced way of taking and giving, and be more respectful with nature.
