About me
I am Ferdows Faghir a second-year photography student.

My photography work is mainly documentary work in which humans play the central role.

My love for analog photography and my roots led me to build my own Afghan box camera for my last project.

But before I got into photography music was my greatest passion, I was producing electronic music. Also in music analog found a way to my heart, I started experimenting with synthesizers and the science behind it (synthesis). What draw me to these intimidating machines was the fact that it’s so tactile. You can twist knobs and patch cables to create sounds. Hours and hours of synthesis and experimenting gave me the greatest joy.

I always wanted to incorporate sounds with the images I make, I was thinking of installations but the idea was always abstract and felt forced. This project inspired me to incorporate modular synthesis and mother nature in a way I could never imagine. Therefore I’m really thankful.
